PARKER memorials, Croscombe

On a trip to Croscombe a few years ago I checked out the graveyard at the church. I found none of my family there, but I did record some PARKER stones which may be of use to some one.

Maria, daughter of Thomas and Anna Elizabeth PARKER of Shepton Mallet, died June 5 1861 aged 17 years.
Also of Arthur PARKER who dies March 18, 1862 aged 7 years.
Also of Fanny the beloved wife of T.W.WHITNEY and daughter of the above T+A PARKER who died June 25 1883 at 33 years
Also of Fanny Louise WHITNEY daughter of the above who died September 28 1909 at 18 years.

Erected by William Hodges PARKER in memory of his father Francis Porch PARKER of the Market Place, Shepton Mallet died Jan 12, 1893 at 66 years.
Also Henry Porch PARKER Jan 25 1837 at 50 years and Elizabeth his wife who dies April 8 1865 at 76.
Also Thomas NORRIS died June 8 1865 at 50 years and Honor Perry NORRIS his wife died April 7 1841 at 21 years
Also Henry NORRIS their son, butcher of Shepton Mallet.

Erected by William Hodges PARKER in loving memory of his mother Jane PARKER, wife of Francis Porch PARKER of Shepton Mallet, died June 5 1866 aged 39 years.

just a correction to the transcription of the first MI
Fanny Louise Whitney died in 1900, not 1909.
Her father, Thomas William Whitney, was my Great-great uncle.

Marmalady, thank you for the correction!

Devizian (is that what they call someone from Devizes?). I'm glad you found some graves. When I visited I couldn't find any of mine.

Interesting Parker information. I have been researching a London Gun Maker by the name of William Parker. His sister Elizbeth Parker married a Henry Porch and came from Croscombe, so I am assuming Willima did as well. I know they had two childred Thomas Parker Porch and Sarah Parker Porch, but would really like to find out of William (c.1776-1841) was born in Croscombe. His will states he was gettig income from a slaughterhouse/black smiths in Croscombe, so it does look likely. A joining of the malily names seems to be very common within this family.

Alan, I can't help you there I'm afraid. My first Parker (Thomas Parker) was born c 1844, supposedly in Bath, but I haven't found a birth record for him.

Am researching my family history and have been given some documents relating to the estates of the late Francis Porch Parker and William Hodges Parker
My G Great Father was Richard Board who married Evangeline Parker , dtr of Francis Porch Parker
Seems she died soon after giving birth to my Grandfather Richard Frank Board
Can anyone add any other information around these links please?
Thanks, Nicholas Board
